About

Raised in Los Angeles during early childhood and later attended an international school in Japan through junior high and high school, Nagi Takahashi has been immersed in diverse cultures from a young age. After graduating from Sophia University, she encountered Pilates while working in the corporate world and intuitively felt from the first few sessions that it was something she would pursue long term.
In 2006, she completed the DK Pilates Instructor Course and spent the next six years at BASI Pilates Studio, gaining extensive experience as an instructor, studio manager, and educator in instructor training. In 2013, she established her own studio, *Pilates Studio Rebirth*. That same year, she became the first Asian instructor to appear on *Pilates Anytime*, a leading U.S.-based online Pilates platform. Her expertise has since led to invitations to major Pilates conferences in Korea and China as a representative instructor from Japan. In 2019, she became the second Japanese instructor ever selected to lead a mat class at a major U.S. Pilates conference. Renowned for the beauty and precision of her movements, she is widely recognized as one of Japan’s leading Pilates instructors, with a strong presence in both the U.S. and Europe.
Since 2014, she has also worked as a Pilates trainer for Cirque du Soleil productions including *KURIOS*, *OVO*, *TOTEM*, and *ALEGRIA*, supporting the physical conditioning of performers and earning their deep trust and respect.
Fluent in multiple languages, she continues to serve as an interpreter for international instructors and as an assistant to Pilates master teacher Kathy Corey. In 2019, she launched her own online CPD (Continuing Professional Development) program for Pilates instructors. Building on that success, she founded the *Nagi Pilates Academy* in 2021, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of world-class instructors.
